In the First OROP, the Government has taken the average of minimum and maximum pension of personnel retired during the calendar year 2013 in the same rank with the same length of service in the same group.
It was implemented w.e.f. 01.07.2014.
But the actual implementation of the same took place in April 2016 restrospectively from 01.07.2014 alongwith arrears (from 01.07.2014 to 31.03.2016) which was paid in four equal installments of six months each.
But the arrears and the Life Time Arrears for family Pensioners were paid in one single installment.
In the Second OROP, as per today’s Supreme court order, the Government has to take the average of minimum and maximum pension of personnel retired during the calendar year 2018 in the same rank with the same length of service in the same group.
The same has to be paid w e.f.01.07.2019 with arrears within three months.
Three months notice period ends on 30.06.2022.
So we all are likely to get Three years / 36 months arrears (from 01.07.2019 to 30.06.2022) of Second OROP.
In the First OROP, a Group Y SERGEANT with 20 years of service got an increase of Rs.1342/- per month alongwith applicable DA for the same.
As per that same logic, if multiply the same with the 7th CPC factor of 2.57, likely to get Second OROP increase @ Rs.3449/- per month along with applicable DA on the same.
So total arrears likely to be around Rs.1,50,000 i.e. will get One and Half Lakhs Rupees as Second OROP arrears.
Whether that will be in single installment or in four installments, no one knows.
