*We are pleased to inform you all that our Synergy meeting with CGDA on 28.08.2017 at New Delhi, which was attended by many executive members of Voice of Ex-Servicemen Society and Veteran Rajeev Behal, raised many issues for ex-servicemen, one of the issue on which he apprised the gathering was ill implementation of ECHS scheme.*
It was brought to the notice of CGDA & Secy. ESM that, Defence Officers, have not applied their intelligence and made ECHS compulsory for all the retiring defence personnel, even without checking the ground realty that even after 14 years of implementation of the scheme that there are hundred and hundreds of districts where there is no Polyclinic.
In the absence of Polyclinic, ex-servicemen are forced to travel 3 to 4 hours for medicine. And on the other hand, CGHS it Is not compulsory.
*CGDA HAS ISSUED ITS CIRCULAR VIDE AT-VI/4918/XXXVI DATED 12.12.2018 AND REPRODUCED THE LETTER OF MoD LETTER NO. 22(01)/2011/WE/D(RES-1) DATED 01.11.2018. a copy of the circular can be downloaded from http://cgda.nic.in/index.php?page=allcircular (circular no. 3518)*
It has been stated by the MoD vide their abovementioned letter that *wherever there is no polyclinic in a district, ex-servicemen staying in those districts, will now have an option to draw Fixed Medical Allowance of Rs. 1000/- Per month*.
It is very good achievement and we appreciate the MoD on the issue of such letter. List of Districts can be seen from the circular *there are 365 districts, who can apply for restoration Fixed Medical Allowance*.
*We want to assure all the ex-servicemen that the team of the VOICE OF EX-SERVICEMEN SOCIETY, is committed to keep on working for the welfare of fellow ex-servicemen, with dedication*.
