RESTRUCTURING INDIA ARMY

Organisation have received reply from Army HQ in response to our letter addressed to the PM, RM and Def Secy suggesting Govt to change structure of centuries old Army in the line of modern Army of the World. Our suggestion, apprehensions, perceived unfair treatment to below commissioned officers ranks mentioned in the letter are as under
1. Centuries old structure of Army be changed in the line of modern army of the world to enhance operational and administrative capability.
2. Officer cadre is being reviewed in the line of IAS to enhance pay, perks, promotion, pension which is wrong. Lt rank has already been abolished whereas the rank exists in all modern army. I also objected proposal to abolish Lt Col and Brig rank and granting of Lt rank on last year of training and Capt on commission and guaranteed promotion to Maj Gen rank as this will destroy army. Indian army has fasted promotion in the world in support of my claim I submitted comparative statement of chines, US , UK and and our Army. Some officer is spreading rumor that no brig ranks in Chinese army whereas chine army has senior colonel rank which is equivalent to Brig
3. We suggested that 50% officers be taken from jawan/NCO cadre as in many countries officers are selected after 5 years service in jawan cadre. This will also establish a better relation between officers and jawans
4. Presently NCOs ranks in our Army is mismanaged and deployed in demeaning work and being treated as slave whereas in other modern country they occupy prominent post and and even fly helicopter. To reduce the burden on exchequer it is recommended to establish a non commission officer cadre in the line of modern army. Many post on which officers are working may replace by the NCOs/JCOs. Presently 45 % pre-mature retirees are SNCO as per 7th pay commission report.
5. It was also requested to abolish ‘Sewadari System’ forthwith.

I request all ESMs to join Voice of Ex Servicemen Society by visiting www.voiceofexservicemen.org to strengthen it to achieve our goal.
